Thousand Islands Parekraf Monitors Health Protocols in Tourism Sector

Thousand Islands Tourism and Creative Economy (Parekraf) Sub-agency monitored health protocols implementation on New Year's Eve in several tourism destinations to prevent COVID-19 spread.

Thousand Islands Parekraf Sub-agency Head, Puji Astuti said, health protocols monitoring was carried out to follow up Governor's Call No. 17/2020 on Control of Community Activities in Preventing COVID-19 on Christmas 2020 and New Year 2021 Holidays and Thousand Islands Regent's Call No. 48/2002 on Control of Community Activities in Preventing COVID-19 on Christmas 2020 and New Year 2021 Holidays.  

"We want to ensure tourism business and tourists comply with health protocols during Christmas and New Year holidays," she asserted, Friday (1/1).

323 Janitors Deployed for New Year’s Eve

Together with related regional apparatus organization (OPD) and agencies, Thousand Islands Parekraf Sub-agency checked the islands which opened for tourism purposes.

"Monitoring is carried out both in tightly controlled tourist sites and other areas," he mentioned.

On December 31, 2020, her side recorded 2,669 tourists visited Thousand Islands. They entered Thousand Islands from piers in Jakarta and Tangerang.

By tightening the monitoring, her side expected residents, business actors, and tourists could implement health protocols well.

"We want tourism sector to run safely as well as preventing COVID-19 spread," she stated.
